LGBTQ+ Mental Health Resources

  • PFLAG Jersey Shore - PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.

  • The Pride Center of New Jersey provides a safe and welcoming space for all individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ to find support, educational tools, health and education resources, and social opportunities within a community of acceptance.

  • Rainbow Youth Project USA has provided LGBTQIA+ young people with meaningful access to free mental health and suicide prevention counseling since its inception.

  • The Trevor Project is a leading organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ youth.

 

BIPOC & Minority Mental Health Support

  • Mental Health America offers a resource center with information on culturally responsive mental health care, racial trauma, and advocacy.

  • Mental Health Liberation is a nonprofit providing free therapy for BIPOC individuals and supporting therapists and students of color.

  • Mental Health Hotline provides culturally sensitive mental health care options and connects individuals with professionals who understand the unique challenges faced by BIPOC communities.

  • Project HEAL has a collection of over 20 mental health resources tailored for different BIPOC identities, including therapy directories, helplines, and community spaces.

 

Disability Mental Health Advocacy

  • DBSA seeks to create equitable access to peer support services and mental health resources and advocate for all individuals with a lived experience with a mood disorder, regardless of cultural and social identity or systemic barriers.

  • TASH advocates for equality for individuals with disabilities, and promotes social justice to create a community that is not segregated according to ability.
