David Cooper, LCSW
About Provider
My name is David Cooper, a Person of Color and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Georgian Court University and my Master of Social Work from Fordham University. With over 25 years of mental health experience, I have collaborated with service providers across Monmouth County and beyond. My clinical focus includes supporting at-risk male youth and adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Trained in Trauma-Informed Care and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I aim to create safety, promote emotional regulation, and empower self-determination. I believe self-discovery flourishes in a therapeutic relationship built on attentive listening, introspection, and partnership. I strive to establish a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment, integrating treatment models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Interpersonal Therapy, Psychoeducation, and Motivational Interviewing.
