Alyssa Fernandes, LSW
About Provider
Alyssa Fernandes, LSW is a licensed social worker who brings a warm, practical, and collaborative approach to therapy with children, teens, adults, and couples. She understands that life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, or major transitions begin to affect how you feel day to day.
Alyssa creates a supportive space where clients can slow things down, better understand what they are experiencing, and begin building tools that feel useful in real life. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based approaches to help clients build confidence, recognize their strengths, and move toward meaningful change.
In her work with couples, Alyssa incorporates Gottman-informed principles to support healthier communication, strengthen connection, and help partners navigate conflict with greater understanding.
Alyssa earned both her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University and is LISTA certified through the Latino Initiative for Service, Training, and Assessment. She values meeting clients where they are and helping them move forward at a pace that feels manageable and right for them.
